Silence by Izzy Treyvaud

Silence is a short graphic story created in 2021 and is illustrated with ink pen and marker on tracing paper and then digitally compiled. Treyvaud states that Silence is “an expression of the existential feelings around silence as an experience and means of transformation. This short narrative explores the idea that silence feels anything but empty and invites the viewer to engage with their own silent sphere while viewing the images.”

Existing as trans, queer, and dealing with trauma has had an effect on the work Treyvaud has made, where they often explore themes such as body, form, gender, identity, existentialism, expression, and connection. Creating work with these undercurrents through their own lens is something that has meant a lot to Treyvaud and helped them heal and feel connected to others.
